One of the hallmarks of any healthy relationship is whether that relationship possesses integrity. Integrity, according to my dictionary, is defined as "the quality of being whole or undivided, completeness." Integrity is an important element of your dissertation process, because you can only make progress when your feelings and your actions are pointing in the same direction. Stated another way, you can only make progress when you are completely committed (mind, body, soul) to finishing. The best way to demonstrate integrity about your dissertation process is to do what you say you will do. If you plan to work for an hour, do it. If you plan to contact someone for a quote, do it. When you say one thing, but do another, you are out of integrity. And, like in any other case, a relationship without integrity soon falls apart.
