One of the best ways to bring yourself into dissertation alignment (you know, that place where you feel clear on what you need to do, and clear that you’re making progress) is to be honest with yourself. If you say you will work on the dissertation, do it. If you miss a day, get back to it at the first opportunity. Be honest with yourself about your plans and progress. How well do your actions match your intentions? Are you following through where it matters most?
