Dissertation Coaching Options

Thanks for your interest in dissertation coaching. Here is a bit more information about the coaching process.

Coaching focuses mainly on goal setting, time management, and on helping you overcome obstacles to finishing the dissertation. These obstacles vary by individual, but sometimes include: confusion about what to do, difficulty setting goals or reaching them, isolation,  poor advisory relationships, issues related to juggling multiple responsibilities (such as full time job, childcare, etc.)

I focus on helping my clients set reasonable goals, work consistently, and finish as quickly as possible, with the most joy possible.

Clients enjoy coaching with me because of my warmth, skill, and practicality. As you may know, I speak at Universities on the topic of dissertation completion and have written two books in the area as well. Universities have hired me to review and critique their dissertation advising process. My process is a proven step by step approach to finishing.

My methods have helped more than 450 students attain their PhD’s, most in a year or less. I have worked with students from all disciplines, including woman’s studies, psychology, history, statistics, mathematics, economics, human geography, and so on. I am an expert on the process of completing the dissertation, and have not found it necessary to be a subject matter expert in order to assist my clients.

I currently offer 3 dissertation coaching options.

The first option is a self-guided dissertation library. This consists mostly of audios and videos about different parts of the dissertation process. This is a good option if you know what you need to do, and just need some motivation along the way. The investment for this is $14.95/monthly, and the site contains more than 200 items of content. You can learn more at http://completeyourdissertation.info

The second option is dissertation group coaching. I run small group dissertation group coaching programs throughout the year. If you are on my dissertation newsletter, you’ll be notified of the groups. Otherwise, you can bookmark and check the coaching offerings at this page: Dissertation Group Coaching

The third option is individual dissertation coaching. This option is best for people looking to make progress rapidly, and who are able to invest in private coaching. Coaching is scheduled on a monthly basis; I suggest working together for at least 3 months to get the full benefit of the skills and processes you will learn. Some people have worked with me for just one part of the process (such as getting the proposal written), but most clients work with me all the way through the revisions and final edits. I have extremely high client success rates (more than 99%) and retention rates, and some clients continue on after graduation, as they focus on writing papers for publication or getting onto the job market.

Direct contact (either on demand, group or 1:1 coaching) is going to be the fastest and most direct route to make substantial progress. The reason for this is that the coaching is tailored to your specific needs and situation and offers customized strategies.
