Nothing Happens Until Something Moves

This quote, one of my favorite, is attributed to Einstein. What it means, to me, is that all the thinking, planning, and conceptualizing doesn’t really mean anything without one more thing: ACTION.

I’ve said this before, but planning the perfect dissertation brings you no closer to your PhD if you don’t act on your plans.

Planning is good, and necessary.

Though it sometimes can be an excuse for paralysis: where you never quite move ahead, and are caught in a cycle of ambivalence and longing.

The longer you are stuck in this cycle, the more grand you feel your efforts must be.

In this mind-space, it can be difficult to remember that all you have to do is just one little thing to get you started.

Just that one little thing will be enough to make something happen.

And a bunch of "little things" can quite soon add up to 3 little letters: PhD.
