Surround yourself with inspiration.

It’s a good idea, every now and then, to take time to get re-inspired about your dissertation. I know, it might sound funny to be inspired by your dissertation, but remember your feelings of enthusiasm and excitement when you first began working on the project? Remember how it felt to decide on a topic? To formulate your questions? To start data collection? It’s easy to lose track of all these milestones and markers of your progress. If you could use a bit of re-inspirtation, here are some ideas: 1) Revisit your time lines to complete- this can be a huge, motivating boost. 2) Stop putting off all the dreaded tasks- dump them, delegate them, or do them 3) Stay in touch with people who’ve finished and learn from their experiences 4) Mentally plan your graduation party- visualize your life post-dissertation. Any of these tips can provide a much needed inspiration boost. Try them and see for yourself.
